Revolution Studios is moving forward on the sequel to the Vin Diesel-starrer XXX, but who will direct the project has not been made clear. Rob Cohen, who directed the original, has right of first refusal. However, if he plans to make Columbia Pictures' Stealth as his next feature, the reins will likely go to Lee Tamahori, who is in talks to direct XXX2.
Cohen has spent the summer location scouting for Stealth, but there is no firm start date for the project, and Cohen has not officially stepped off XXX2.
If Tamahori should come aboard the project, it would mark the helmer's third franchise after directing Die Another Day and Along Came a Spider.
