Storyline:
Back when the Earth was being overrun by glaciers, and animals were scurrying to save themselves from the upcoming Ice Age, a stupid sloth named Sid, a woolly mammoth named Manny, a saber-toothed tiger named Diego, and an acorn-loving saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat are forced to become unlikely heroes. The four reluctantly come together when they have to return a human child to its father while braving the deadly elements of the impending Ice Age.

Taye Diggs Beats the Drum

Taye Diggs (Chicago) will topline the Armada Pictures feature Drum, which goes before cameras November 7 in South Africa under the direction of Zola Maseko.

Bringing Down the House writer Jason Filardi penned the project, which is based on the real life accounts of Drum magazine writer Henry Nxumalo, who risked his life exposing the brutal nature of the South African apartheid regime.

Diggs, who earlier this month was handed an excellence in filmmaking award at the 39th Chicago Film Festival, will next be seen in the GreeneStreet production Slow Burn.

Lee Tamahori Directing Marvel's Deathlok

Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day) will direct Deathlok for Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios. There is no start date for the project yet.

Written by Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner, the Marvel Comics property is about a suburban family man who is unwittingly made a test subject for technology research that slowly turns him into a living computer.

Marvel Studios' Avi Arad is producing the project with Steven Paul and his Crystal Sky Productions, the latter of which has a co-production and co-financing deal with Paramount.

Macaulay Culkin as a Young Hannibal Lecter?

Bloody-Disgusting tells us that an article in Hot Dog Magazine says producer Dino De Laurentiis is interested in casting Macaulay Culkin in The Lecter Variation after seeing his performance in Party Monster.

While this casting has not been confirmed, Lecter's creator, Thomas Harris, is plotting the film which follows the serial killer from his childhood in Lithuania through a period in Paris in his teens to his arrival in the US. De Laurentiis said that four actors will be required to play young Lecter at the ages of 12, 16, 20 and 25.

"Lecter was born into a very rich family but the war destroyed his family and killed his parents," explained De Laurentiis. "He was left with his sister with whom he had a very close relationship."

Universal is likely to again distribute the movie whose title refers to Bach's Goldberg Variations which have been a recurring musical reference in the Lecter saga to date.

This documentary disputes these claims as they are presented to us and puts them in the context of present and historical US imperialism and hypocrisy with respect to Iran. It looks at the struggle for democracy inside Iran, the consequences of the current escalation and the potential US and/or Israeli attack, and suggests some alternatives to consider.
